Why don't you offer a package with just one picture?  I only want one picture.

In short, it's not cost effective and the quality of the experience suffers greatly.  It takes time to obtain the quality that both you and us expect.  Obtaining one picture probably would not meet your expectations.  We would not be able to guarantee a picture of your baby's face or a picture of the front of the baby's face instead of a profile, a foot or the back of the head.  Due to time and effort, the cost would still be there but the quality might not be.  We need time for quality, expectations and show.  Unfortunately, one picture would not achieve those things.

What is included in your ultrasound sitting fee?

This depends on the package you choose. We offer great value and provide flash drives that can include jpegs (pictures), avi files (short videos) and possibly the full video of the entire session. The package will predict what is included on your flash drive.  We have upgraded to flash drives, which most Smart TVs, picture printing kiosk and computers can support. It is our goal to have your complete package ready when you leave your appointment.

Does gestation or duration (time of scanning) matter?

Absolutely with both.  Since the baby is always growing, it is possible for the baby to get too big for good pictures.  The larger the baby and the placenta's placement changes the quality of pictures.  Bottom line, don't wait too long to schedule and complete your appointments.  If you wait until the end of the appropriate gestation visit weeks and baby is uncooperative, we might not have enough scheduling time to get you back for a free recheck visit.

As far as duration of scan, some 3d businesses offer longer scan times.  We at Womb With a View® wonder WHY?  Good pictures should be obtainable in just 15-20 minutes.  The amount of pictures should be the reason for slightly longer scan times, but keep in mind that all babies and all mothers get tired.  We find that anything over 30 minutes is wasted since most babies get tired around 30 minutes and the turn to face the mother's back, which results in no pictures.  The longer the mother is on her back, the more tired both she and her baby becomes.

What is the difference between 2D, 3D, 4D and HD ultrasounds?

It is important to make it clear that 3D/4D/HD ultrasound is exactly the same sound waves as the conventional 2D ultrasound that everybody is familiar with.  The 2D mode is the traditional black and white images of mostly the baby's bones and fluid. It is typically used to determine the gender and to see organs.  The 3D mode is the images where you can see the baby's facial features in color. It is the still images (in color) of your baby.  The 4D mode is real time, live motion. In this mode you are watching and present to see your baby smile, blink, yawn, make faces and play.  The HD mode is the newest in ultrasound technology. It offers amazing realistic and true life images by using advanced skin rendering techniques. Our machine has five different HD settings which will eliminate most of the "waves" or "white noise" interference that the 3D mode typically allows.

What are the benefits of 3D ultrasound?

Our ultrasound images far surpass traditional 2D images providing easy understanding and visualization. 3D ultrasound allows the expecting mother and guests to clearly visualize the baby and family traits. Most importantly, 3D ultrasound can encourage maternal well-being through bonding and the subsequent better care for the developing baby. We hear all of the time, "Now, it seems so real!" and its often the father who gets the most from the visit. The family really does come together!

Will I always get a beautiful picture of my baby?

At Womb With A View®, we will always do our very best to obtain great pictures, but it may not always be perfect. Our goal is to get face forward pictures, but if your baby is looking towards the spine it may be difficult to see your baby's face. If this happens we will make several attempts during your session to achieve the best picture possible. Please keep in mind that the images we obtain may not be similar to any you have seen else where or even from one of our locations. Every baby scans differently, depending on it's position, age and mother's condition. We promise to do our best at all times and may offer a free recheck if necessary.

How long does the 3D/4D Ultrasound take?

Please plan for 30 minutes on gender determinations and 45 minutes for all other packages as a total time from start to finish.

When is the best time to come in for my ultrasound appointment?

We know you are excited and want to see your baby as soon as possible.  Gender determination is most accurate if made after 16 weeks. For the best 3D visualization of the baby, weeks 26-34 are good, though our favorite weeks are 28-32. Prior to 24 weeks the fat has not yet defined the baby and while 3D ultrasound images are obtainable, truly beautiful ultrasound images require fat deposits and fetal development. Your excitement abounds and may have you wanting to come in early. Please keep in mind that our experience has led us to encourage mothers to wait for the appropriate time in order to get the most from their visit. We also reserve the right to not offer a free recheck if you decided to come in during weeks that are not recommended.

Does anything change if I am having twins?

YES!  Since there are two babies, there is more baby and less space. Also, there are two personalities that must be considered. Our experience suggest that expectant mothers of twins can have the genders done at the regular time frame (16 weeks or after) but 3D/4D pictures would need to be obtained between 23-29 weeks. Our 3D packages offer free rechecks if the baby(ies) are uncooperative, so we would want enough time to schedule the recheck to occur within the observation weeks.

What should I wear to my ultrasound appointment?

We recommend that you wear two-piece outfits. Easy access to the baby makes for a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Who conducts the ultrasound sessions?

Only specially trained and experienced 3D ultrasound technicians provide ultrasound imaging services. Some are licensed medical technologists (ARDMS) who have embraced 3D ultrasound technology while others are trained exclusively in the art of 3D ultrasound imaging. All of our technicians focus on the mother first and maintain the high-standards required of Womb With a View® technicians.

Can I bring friends and family to my ultrasound appointment?

Absolutely! We are a family friendly environment. This is truly a family affair, therefore our location can accommodate all of your guests. When you schedule your 3D Ultrasound appointment, please mention if you will have more than eight guests as extra seating will need to be brought into the room for your appointment. We realize the value of having family and friends to share moment. Please keep in mind we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Our ultrasound imaging rooms have multiple video screens for easy client visualization of the baby and an in-room play-space for the children. Our largest group has exceeded 20 individuals.

Can you tell the gender of the baby?

Yes!  Womb With a View® prides itself on gender accuracy and on many occasions have corrected information from earlier 2D ultrasound visits. Several looks will be provided until you are confident with the determination. Also, free recheck and accuracy is not promised if gender determination is held before 16 weeks. If you wish to keep the gender a secret, we will respect your wish.

Do you provide medical services or diagnostic ultrasound?

No, Womb With a View® provides elective non-medical 3D/4D ultrasound for determining gender, fetal position, an estimated fetal heart rate, and other useful non-diagnostic information. Our technicians will not provide any medical measurements to include the weight of the baby. Any medical questions should be directed to the mother’s physician or midwife.

Do I need a note from my doctor?

Womb With a View® requires that all clients be under the active care of a physician or midwife. Verification of prenatal care is established through either: a direct note from your healthcare provider, a copy of recent diagnostic ultrasound, an appointment card, an appointment history or a recent diagnostic ultrasound report. Womb With a View® reserves the right to contact your provider to confirm prenatal services.

Do I need a full bladder?

While you should remain well hydrated, you do not need a full-bladder for our ultrasound services.

What type of payment is accepted?

We accept cash, Mastercard, Visa and most Debit cards.

How far in advance should ultrasound appointments be made?

Ultrasound appointments should be made as soon as possible since some days are very popular. Weekends and evenings fill up quickly. Hours vary by location so please call or visit the location page for hours and prices. Same day appointments can sometimes be accommodated but are not available at all locations!

Do you accept insurance?

3d Ultrasound is an elective service not covered by medical insurance.

Is Ultrasound Safe?

Ultrasound has been in routine use for over thirty-five years. Ultrasound uses sound waves far above the range of human hearing to penetrate the mother's body. When your fetus reflects back the sound waves, a computer records and interprets the resulting echoes and generates an images of that area.

What is your cancellation policy?

Womb With A View® currently has a flexible and fair cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask that you please give us at least 24 hours notice. Your appointment is yours alone. We do not double book or over book, so it is important to us that each client keeps their appointment time(s). If unexpected emergencies have you running late, we would appreciate a call so we may advise you on how we will handle your session.
